These are frustrating situations, but only if you allow yourself to
get frustrated.
Frustration to me equals confusion. When you have confusion it clouds
your mind. It makes it so that you can't see things clearly and you
can't find a solution with the same speed or accuracy that you would
if you weren't frustrated. The key in handling situations is to have
a clear mind. All of this will end up being stress. It will make you
loose sleep, maybe make you gain weight, or just make your life hell.
There is no need for that. There are enough problems in the outside
world to cause you grief, you don't need to add to it.
You need to be able to identify frustration and nip it in the bud.
You need to stop that at its source. If you can stop that, you can
stop anger. Stopping anger will help you in the rest of your life.
Anger causes problems. I went through a period of my life where I was
angry. I was angry at everyone and everything. I would raise my
voice every chance I could get.
I would throw or hit things if they were near me.
When I get angry I loose control of myself. I end up being a danger
to myself and those around me. It got to the point that it was
affecting my life. No one wants to be around someone with a short
fuse who will treat others like shit. You don't like being around
people like that, so why expect people to be around you while you act
this way?
Sometimes I think men use anger to feel more manly. They use it to
prove they are a beast of the jungle and can fight with the best of
them. It is a way for them to control their surroundings.
This could be further from the truth. Anger is something that will
not give you any gain in life, will ruin every relationship
you have, and may even cause you your life. Stress can play a big
factor in heart attacks and other health problems. Why kill yourself
over silly shit? It's not worth it.
Here are some ways that I avoid stress and in turn I avoid anger:
If the wife is in a bad mood stay away from her.
A lot of times angry people want to make others angry. It is like a
disease to them and they want to pass it on to a new host. Don't
allow this.
Handle situations properly.
This will take some practice, but it can be done. Don't allow
yourself to get into situations with people that may get you angry.
For example: If your coworker is being an asshole and not doing his
work. If he does this often, go straight to your boss. Tell him that
this lazy guy needs to get up off his ass and do some work. If you go
straight to your coworker, that can cause a rift between you and him.
It isn't worth it. Unless he has balls of gold, he can get off his
lazy ass and pull his own weight.
Don't take your work home with you.
There is no need to do this. Keep work at work. Spend your time
with your family or with your feet up watching television. Enjoy your
time at home.
If the kids piss you off
don't take it out on other people. This should be common sense, but
it isn't. People do this all the time. Go to another room and cool
off or get your mind off of it. Taking stuff out on other people
isn't fair to them.
Finances, world events, the neighbors.
These are all things that are pointless to get frustrated over.
Getting mad doesn't put money in your pocket. So why get mad about
it? Do you think if you get pissed off it will solve the problems in
the middle east? It's not going to do anything, world events aren't
worth getting angry over. I would suggest not to even buy a newspaper
or watch the news. If you want small doses of news, you can read it
online. To much news will rot your brain. The neighbors aren't even
worth getting angry about. If they are causing you problems, call the
police. They will settle it for you.
Very few things in life are worth getting angry over. Save your
energy for solving problems before they turn into anger. You will
save yourself a lot of frustration and it could save your life.
Stress over a period of time could cause you a heart attack or other
health problems. It isn't worth it. |
